Day Two on the Coast
As you can see from the idyllic photo below, the weather today was again flawless. I think for our group it could have been a bit cooler but for the endless mass of of vacationers and sun worshipers we met along the way….PERFECTION!
As usual for our hikes in the UK, we brought plenty of rain gear and wind protection. Should have brought more sunscreen this year! Our second day of hiking was an absolutely beautiful walk along a mostly moderate hiking trail. 15 miles in total ending at a terrific pub in Lizard Town. Our legs and feet were pretty fatigued but nothing a few recovery pints and G&T’s couldn’t fix. Looking forward to another great walk tomorrow!
Harbor at Porthleven as we set off in the morning. Looks better at high tide!

The Loe Bar - English Channel on the right and Fresh Water Pond on the left!
Much of our walk this afternoon would be along Cliffs like this
The Marconi Monument, marking the location of the Poldhu Wireless Station erected by the Marconi Company in 1900 which sent the first Wireless Telegraphy signals across the Atlantic to St. John’s Newfoundland
Further along our walk today, the Coast became more and more rugged.
One of the many secluded beach coves along the way.
